Together we can effect change in our communities and in the workplace
DTC-CBW is an affiliate of the state organization Colorado Business Women (CBW). Our mission is to promote full participation, equity and economic self-sufficiency for Colorado’s working women. We achieve these objectives through involvement in political and legislative issues, community outreach, and personal and professional development.
CBW (formerly associated with the National Federation of Business and Professional Women), was founded in 1919. CBW has participated in a variety of issues affecting working women at both state and national levels.
Through active participation in the local organization, DTC-CBW members can effect change in their communities and in the workplace, while adding their voices to issues at the state level. The objectives of DTC-CBW are simple, yet very powerful and significant:
• To elevate the standards of women in professions and businesses;
• To promote the interest of professional and business women;
• To bring about a spirit of cooperation among the professional and business women
• To extend opportunities to professional and business women through education along the lines of industrial, scientific, and vocational activities.
Meeting on a monthly basis, DTC-CBW has continuing programs that address the needs of working women, whether they are starting a career, making a career change, or planning retirement. In addition to programs held at regular meetings, DTC-CBW also participates in several programs held throughout the year for individual development and to honor those within and outside CBW who have contributed significantly to the development, promotion and support of professional and business women.
